The maritime sector

The ALTUM telescopic pole enables safe ground- or deck-based visual and ultrasonic thickness measurements (UTM) of maritime structures. Typical uses:

  • Ship and hull inspection: inspect plating, topsides, and superstructures from the dock without staging.

  • Ballast and cargo tanks: single-operator thickness readings on tank walls/roofs, reducing confined-space staging.

  • Offshore structures and cranes: reach crane booms, jibs, welds, and pipe racks while the operator stays safely grounded.

  • Weld and coating surveys: high-resolution close imagery of welds, coating failure, and corrosion for repair decisions.
